Product Description:
L-citrulline is an α-amino acid with the chemical formula C6H13N3O3. It is produced from ornithine and amine formyl phosphates in the urea cycle, or is catalyzed by nitric oxide synthase (NOS) to produce NO from arginine. Patients with rheumatoid arthritis (about 80%) develop an immune response against proteins containing citrulline. Citrulline is a non-protein amino acid that has the ability to form peptide bonds, but does not participate in protein synthesis. Citrulline was once considered as an intermediate product in urea cycle. However, recent studies have shown that citrulline can be widely used in medicine, food, health care and other aspects, with good pharmacological effects.
