Product Description:

Ferulic acid, chemical name 3-methoxy-4-hydroxycinnamic acid, has a high content in Chinese medicinal materials such as ferulin, rice bran, Chuanxiong, cohosh, sour jujube kernel, etc., and is one of the active ingredients of these traditional Chinese medicines. Ferulic acid has two isomers, cis, trans, both of which are light yellow solids. Obtained directly from plants, ferulic acid can be obtained from plants in three ways: one is obtained from the combination of ferulic acid and some small molecules, the other is obtained from the plant cell wall, and the third is obtained by tissue culture. In plants, ferulic acid is mostly crosslinked with polysaccharides and lignin through ester bonds or esterified or etherified to form diferulic acid, which is generally released by alkali method and enzymatic method to break the ester bond, and then extracted with a suitable solvent.
